You might have heard that carrots especially the vitamin A from carrots can be an excellent food for your eyesight, so you are checking if carrots can really cure astigmatism.

Carrots are an excellent source of Vitamin A, which helps in astigmatism. This is because Night Blindness is one of the most common symptom of Astigmatism, which is why carrots can be a solution to its symptom. However, there is no scientific evidence that carrots can actually reduce or cure astigmatism itself. Instead, it is only a solution to its symptom.

To explain it further, let’s have an example. Fever is usually caused by infection, maybe from a bacteria or a virus. And drinking paracetamol reduces the fever but does not kill the bacteria or a virus. That’s the same with carrots and astigmatism.

Carrots can be an excellent source of vitamins for night blindness, which is one of the problems people with astigmatism face but is not a real cure for astigmatism.

Can Carrot Juice Cure Astigmatism

Carrots, particularly its vitamin A content is good for your astigmatism more specifically. night blindness. However, take note that there is no scientific evidence that carrots can cure astigmatism itself. it is merely a relief to one of its symptoms that’s why it can help improve your eyesight.

In fact, people with low vitamin A levels have a poor night vision, which can make astigmatism worse as poor night vision is one of the main problems of people with astigmatism.

How much Carrot Juice do I need to Drink to Fix My Eyesight

In the research study, 4.5 ounce of carrots eaten for 6 days a week for 6 weeks improved the participant’s night vision. That is equivalent to about half a cup of carrot juice per day since carrots are 86-95% water.

That is a computation since 4.5 ounce of carrots is about 125 grams which is 0.56 cups. Considering that carrots are 95% water, it will be about 1/2 cup per day.

In short, just as small as 1/2 cup of carrot juice per day will improve your eyesight.

Also take note that in the study, it did not just studied carrots but other sources of vitamin A.

In their conclusion, regardless of the source of vitamin A, it helped the participants improve their eyesight.

There are is not yet a scientifically proven way to improve your eyesight naturally. Supplements can help your eyes but not in the treatment. However, hormesis is a good way to start in helping your eyes get better.
